Bottom wisdom teeth irratation while 7wks pregnant, do I have to get them removed or can I wait?

Currently I am about 7wks pregnant and my bottom two wisdom teeth have been starting to bother me for the last 2-3 wks.  I'm 25 years of age and had the the top two pulled a little over a year ago.  I have no problem dealing with the irratation for the next 7-8 months until I have the baby, to ensure that my baby will be safe. The teeth are basically all the way in but I do have that little flap of skin that I have read what causes infection, one side is actually in no pain with no skin over the tooth, while the other just recently has a small flap of skin over the tooth. My concern is that I want to make sure I will be safe for the next 7-8 months.  I have been told you can die from infected wisdom teeth and I also was doing research on line and saw one case of a 35 yr old woman dying with her unborn six month old child. So I didn't know if my chances were greater while I was pregnant.  Any insight would be much appreciated, I thank you for your time.

You should schedule an appointment with a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon as soon as possible.

Chronic inflammation and/or infections of the gums can be very bad for the baby.  Recent studies have shown a link between low birth weight and preterm and the presence of your wisdom teeth as you described.

It is best to have the decision made by someone who actually examines you and obtains the appropriate radiographs.
