Suboxone for Oxy wd?

I need some opinions on the use of suboxone while detoxing from Oxycontin. . High tolerance level. At least 160-240 mlgs. a day. The suboxone is not prescribed. How much would you suggest taking? And another thing. . I heard that suboxone will put you in automatic dt's if your system isnt clean. Any truth to that? Thanks ahead of time. .

hi kit, i have never used the sb but many ppl here have and have usedit successfully.  i do know you have to be in total w/ds before you use it.   i really dont hink you should use it with out docs supervision.  flmagi and allaboutmary are both on it and would be glad to talk to you about it if you want to pm them.  i too did oxys (snorted)  so i do know the demons associated with them.  i am glad you have decided to take your life back.  it is late and the forum is slow so if you dont get the help you are looking for check back tomorrow.

I think you need to wait 24 hrs after last use to start Sub..or when you are starting to withdraw.So you would eat 4 t 6 a day?? 40s?? Yes you can get sick on Subs if you mix them up with Oxys..How long have you been doing this is going to determine your detox with Subs...

I have been abusing (snorting) pain killers since I was 18, Im 24 now. I started out with hydro and I just worked my way up to the oxy's which is a whole new ball game. Wish I had never seen the first one. I have been doing the Oc's for about a year, 2 or 3 80's a day. . .I have never tried the suboxone. Just have some that a friend gave me bc I am soooo sick. I did a half of an 80 yesterday morning and it wasnt 6 hrs later that I was starting to feel s hity.  Today has been a living hell! Especially the mental part of it. Thats why this suboxone is looking pretty good right now, but all jokes aside, I really do want to be clean and lead a normal life. Would the suboxone just lead to another habit? Some of you know how long I have been battling with this demon. Just cant seem to kick it.

the sub can definately be habit forming.  some use it just a week or so to get off the opiates and stop the sub and they seem to do okay.  i just really dont know alot about it.  i am repeating what has been posted by others.

Yea i tried to stop a couple times on the oxys,,ive been eating about 120 mils a day along with vics,,i stopped the vics about 3 weeks ago,,Dr gave me Norcos,,i ate a half of one and it put me to sleep on top of the oxys,,I tried tapering off the oxys with vics,,and with percodan,,no way,,i was so sick by day 2,3,4 ,,i went back and got more oxys,,i was going to try the Sub,,ive researched it inside out,,Dr said right now take care of back pain,,I have to eat them in order to function,,now,,,,

I took Sub last year to get off vicodin and oxy. I took it for 10 days. I have been clean for 9 months. I would really advise seeing a doctor before starting treatment with it.  Doing it yourself isn't safe. Oxys have a very long half life and you have to wait until you are at least in withdrawal to take Sub. 24-48 hours for the longer acting pills.  On the right side of the forum is a section called Health pages. There is info on Sub in several articles. Two of them submitted by me.

I don't think that anyone on here is paid to promote suboxone. That is not tolerated by medhelp and the link would be removed. All the stories I have read are from personal experience. Have you used suboxone before? I personally have not so I usually don't comment on it. From what I have read from personal experiences on here if used correctly, under a doctors cares, and tapered very slowly it can help. But there can be withdrawals just like most other drugs out there. I'm by no means saying to use it, but I feel it would be better than being addicted to a opiate the rest of you life.
