Hot spots on liver

by mommyofmy2, Mar 24, 2008 11:05AM
We took my 7 yr old son to the e.r. 3 weeks ago for severe stomache pain (he was doubled over and couldnt walk). They immediately called in surgeons because they thought he was having an appendicitis.  They admitted him (at 2:30 am) and said in the morning they would do more blood work and an ultrasound.  When the results of the ultrasound came back they told us it was not his appendicts, but that the lymph nodes in his abdomen were swollen (possibly from several strep throat infections within the past few months) and was probably causing his pain.  He was discharged late that afternoon.  He continues to have the stomache pain (though not as severe).  We followed up with our pediatrician a week later, she referred us to an ENT because his tonsills are HUGE.  She also said she was waiting on the records from the hospital.  2 days later she called me and said that she had the medical records and that the radiologists final report from the ultrasound showed "hot spots" on his liver and he recommended more tests.  She said she agreed and asked me to take him to the lab asap for blood work.  I am scared to death.  I have no idea what is going on.  He had the blood drawn on Friday and she said she would have the results today.  I was diagnosed with cervical cancer 2 months prior to becoming pregnant with him.  My husband's nephew was diagnosed with a very rare form of non-hodgkins lymphoma at about the same age.  His other symptoms are: bad headaches (a few times a week), his legs hurt, and he just doesnt seem like himself to me.  Any ideas????
