I'm having the same constant intense temp. crown pain.

Can you tell me if you got relief after the permanent crown was put in? How did this turn out for you?

More like sharp nerve pain with throbbing that gradually became constant after 2 days of biting on the bad crown. The soreness and gum swelling did calm down. It's like a constant toothache now.
Thank you for your support!

Well I think that it will bounce back. I also think that your first dentist should adjusted the crown. Crown adjustment is normal. People have them all the time. Heres what I say. Its your mouth, you are the only one who knows how it feels. The dentist should consider your feelings and concerns. Its like it was no problem with getting the 500-700 dollar crown and charging you insurance for the work. The see another dentist who will adjust it for you. It doesnt make sense. A crown will make your mouth feel weird at first but I dont think you should feel pain. But constanly moving and cutiing anf adjusting sounds like it could cause some pain. That pain or bruising has to heal. I think you should give the pain another week. Is it sore or sharp like nerve pain?

I hope your adjustment gives you relief. Here is my whole experience.
After tooth number 15 cracked, upper left molar and the old silver filing cracked and my dentist reccomended a crown. All of my bite was only on that crown infact none of my other teeth made contact. I had pain every time I would bite down only. I went back the next day and she slightly adjusted the bite and insisted I get used to the fact that she was leaving it "high" because that is what she said the final crown would fit like. She said that is the size it is "supposed " to be since I have a small mouth I better get used to it, she told my husband to take me on a vacation to get my mind off of it and that she can't do "magic". She made fun of the research I did which showed that your dentist will be very eager to adjust the bite of your temp. crown, because this situation can't take care of itself or improve with time anc can seriously aggravate or even compromise the nerve. She said it didn't matter what research I did that she was the expert and sent me away. I was still hitting that crown , and the pain with each bite became more constant. I had swelling and chills and fever and begged her for days for an antibiotic which she finally filled. I believe I had an abscess. I went to two more Dentist's the next week who confirmed the bite was wrong. One gave me a new temp. crown and now I could bite perfectly . Only problem is the pain and throbbing had already become and still is constant. Tylenol knocks in out for a few hours and then it is back. Dr. says nerve is good and tooth is healthy. He shaved the tooth far down, so the temp would fit good. He also said the first dentist had cut out some of my gum to get to my tooth. It also sounds like it was a tooth that could have just originally been filled. The tooth beneath it has calmed down but that tooth and the one next to it are constantly throbbing and in pain. I am afraid that the improperly fitting first temp crown had damaged my nerve . My dentist said to give it time to bounce back. Can it bounce back?

Yes i got relief after the crown was put on. It was sore for about a week. But after that I was ok. Just in the last month It has started to get sore. Not pain, or hurting constanly. Just sore sometimes when trying to eat. It actually feels like it is moving. But I have a appt on Thursday for a cleaning, and cavities filled and possibly an adjustment. It depends. I mean like I said the soreness is off and on. I need to get my cavities filled before more damage is done. I say ask your dentist to take xrays to look at how the teeth sit. Then demand a crown adjustment. You pay all that money to save a tooth and it hurts.
