So confused

Hi doctors, 36, Male - same girlfriend over a year-  7 months ago, started strange pains on the right side of my testicles which have since spread to my groin area and penis - let me explain as i am in desperate need of some type of explanation - last summer i went swimming with a girl who i knew had herpes, she climbed on my back for about a minute and i polity asked to get of of me and got out of the pool, about a day later i felt a strange tingle on the side of my testicles and slight burning when urinating -  the pain had spread to tip of my penis and other testicle all with in the same week.

1 -at 2 weeks get a full test from family doctor he laughed at me- neg for everything - HSV 1-  0.68 and HSV 2 - 0.16
2- at 8 weeks see urologist tells me im crazy, get tested again all neg. with same neg. HSV results plus or minus a few points.
3- notice a shinny bump on head of penis pick at it gets red and stays under skin now looks like a vein or something.- also notice pin head sized shinny bumps under the head where the foreskin meets ( i think i have seen this there before over the years but never thought anything about it)
4- different urologist 4 months later inserts camera in my penis, had no idea what is wrong and sends me home.
5- see a friends doctor about 16 weeks after this all happened sends me CT scan and ultra sound ( have divirticulitis) gives me cypro and doxyfor a month, says possible epiditymitis does another full STD screen at my request - again all results are neg.
6- 7 months later still have aching pains at least once a day - had a bump on the top of my mouth during anti- biotic use.
my question is this: what are the chances this is actually an STD,  what are those shinny bumps, and the dark spot under the skin? is it possible to catch something from a swimming pool with close contact? i read alot the test results vary a great deal, my white blood cell count has been high for years, would that effect the any test results? - thank you so much

For sure no STD causes the symptoms you describe, including herpes or anything else.  And if despite that certainty, you happened to have an STD afterall, the multiple examinations and tests you have had would have picked it up.  And I very much doubt you had epididymitis either.

If I had to guess, my bet would be that you have the male chronic pelvic pain syndrome.  You'll find loads of information if you will google "chronic pelvic pain syndrome".  The Wikipedia article is an excellent summary.  As you will learn, it used to be considered a form of prostatitis.  In most men, it probably is anxiety-related.

As far as the skin bumps, I really haven't a clue.  No STD causes such a problem.  What did your urologists say about them?  If a urologist sees nothing abnormal, then almost certainly nothing is wrong.  But if in doubt, consider seeting a dermatologist.

Finally, as to your follow-up comments below, the additional symptoms don't change a thing.

From all you say, I'm quite sure you have nothing that will ever be a health threat to you or that can harm your current or future sex partners.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

i should also mention that , i think this girl in the pool might have playfully bit me on the shoulder if that means anything, and the pain has gone from an ache type feeling in my penis to a pins and needles type feeling to an almost tickle-ish type felling in the 7 months since this happened and i also have been experiencing a few un- warranted semi erections for no apparent reason - again any insight at all would be much appreciated  - this forum is fantastic, everybody on here seems to really care - thanks again.

wow i have to say that your comment has made to most sense of any one i have spoken to thus far, including the doctors that actually examined me in person - i read a interesting article about CCPS and it seams to make sense to what i have been experiencing, and there is much to learn thanks to your kindness - my biggest worry was obviously the worst thing that isnt cure-able, and my concern was that this was possible from getting something like that from a swimming pool or a small bite - my doctor told me that the shinny bumps on the head of my penis are glands? , but its sad to say i take little very stock in what they all have told me as every doctor basically rushed me out of the office to attend the waiting room full of patients - i didnt ask him about pin sized red- ish, purple - ish dot between the head and the foreskin, looks like its bulging "out of" a vein, similar to the one on the head of my penis, there is also the same mark on the right side of my urethra that has been there for, as as i can tell, 7 months or so , but there just under the skin almost like a bruise from picking at them- sounds strange i know, i also had since i was very young red blood filled dots on my testicles, they dont do anything, there just there - if this is irrational to ask i digress, do people really wait a year to take these types of test before they know the truth, and are things like this contractable from a pool? there is so much on my mind on why i am in the place mentally and i can say i truly feel compassion for so many men deal with this every day - again thanks isnt a strong enough word for you work doctor.
