After about 4 months, you should be starting to feel good enough to pretty much do your normal living.  Nothing strenuous of course.  Just day to day activity.

Should be pretty much on the downhill side of the recovery, and feeling a little better each day.

Happy trails......

My husband had bypass surgery and depression came over him and has never left.  But he has been trreated with medication for this.  I understand everyone experiences this as a side effect and in most cases it will leave, but it takes some time.  Don't give up.  There will be a light at the end of the tunnel.  My husband had a broken wire in his chest.  He had to be reopened.  Be careful not to lift for at least 9 months, That is anything heavey.  I don't care what you are told.  It's not worth it.  His sternum wire was removed but his sternum could not be repaired because the heart muscle attached to the back of the sternum.  He lives with so much pain and there can not be another operation, because of the danger, unless the doctor's back is to the wall.  So be careful.  Under most circumstances, depression is a part of this and it will go in time.
