WARTS! HELP

Please help, my girlfriend had some very small warts on her thumb and as a child had plantar warts, her immune system is not the best according to some doctors, anyhow while she had some very small warts on her thumb we had sex now i am worried that she could have passed them to me on my genitals or elsewhere, please tell me in your opinion or through your experience are these warts contagious , a little contagious, or very contagious? also i noticed some red dots and what seems to look like a tiny rash on the top part of my foot recently, could these be warts, they dont itch there just there, could this be from her? i know thats a question you cant answer but i thought id ask it anyway. thanks again for all your hard and fine work.

There are over 100 types of HPV, the virus that causes genital and other warts.  Once of the interesting qualities of these viruses is that certain types of virus appear to have a "preference" for causing infection in certain parts of the body. The types that cause genital warts do not infect the hand or feet and vis versa.  Thus it is doubtful- very very doubtful that your GF's finger warts will be transmitted to your genitals though your sexual activities.

As for the rash on your feet.  Again, in part for the reasons mentioned above, I doubt that the lesions you note on your feet are warts.  The second reason for my doubt is that warts tend to be raised and as I read your post, it was my impression that your lesions were rather flat.  As your post also infers, you will not be surprised when I tell you that if you really want to know what they are, if they persist, I would suggest you go see a health care provider who can directly examine the lesions of interest.

Hope this is helpful.  EWH

Theoretically yes but again, very unlikely.  EWH
