My dad recently got a new job about 1 and 1/2 weeks ago and now he currently works on the 18th floor.  He talks about having persistent sweaty hands and not being able to stay up there to work for long periods of time.  He consistenly has to come back down after feeling sick to get a breather and then goes back up.  I think he has developed a fear of heights and if something isnt done soon then he may lose his job.  Please I dont know what else to do because the doctors office wont return my phone calls and I hate to see him all worked up.  Please tell me if there's anything he can do or any medication that he can take or ANYTHING at all that I can do.  Thank you for reading this and I hope that there's a way that you could help me.

Hello,

I'd recommend that your dad see his primary care provider as a place to start. Medications are probably not the place to start for your dad. Counseling (cognitive behavioral therapy), biofeedback, and talk therapy under the direction of a specialist are other options.
