No periods without hormones

I am a 26 year old female. I have not had a natural period since September 2007. In January 2008, I was started on progesterone to kick start my period. The progesterone did not help to start my period. I was then placed on Yaz which did cause menstruation. I have had to periods but asked my OB/GYN to take me off the Yaz because it also caused breast pain and I developed migraines associated with my period. Prior to then, I had been taken off Ortho-Tri Cyclen Lo due to severe breast pain for about a year. My periods had been regular until 9/07. I had a pelvic u/s which revealed nabothian cysts. Do these cysts have anything to due with amenorrhea? I am currently at 217 pounds and have lost close to 18 pounds. Will the weight loss have an effect on my periods, or being overweight? Is it necessary to have my period? If I don't start my period on my own and am not ovulating, will I not be able to have children?

hello, i am in the same situation as u, i cannot have a period and my last one was sept 2007 and i still didnt have one on my own! my doc gave me femara to induse my periods and it work with no side effects! i have pcos and ther is no folicles on my overies but i was suggested to go and get IUI,and hopefully it will work as it will grow and i will ovulate naturally.. i suggest u speak to ur doc and c if IUI would be good for u! because i am on puregon to grow them and maybe that is what u need! u shud find out. i really hope all goes well for u! good luck
