elevated sgot and sgpt levels

my wife was having high grade fever from 4 - 5 days. blood examination revealed sgot and sgpt levels of 1560 to 1700
Widal test was +ve also.The doctor put my wife on typhoid treatment.The condition degraded day by day .They didnot
put on liver stimulants.Suddenly her blood pressure became so less that she couldnot survive.And she died within one
week from starting first signs of fever.I am still confused what went wrong,i have also noted that from hepatitis mortality
is not so quick.All other blood parameters and urine examination were normal.Can you explain please.
