tremor

by rnjive, Mar 27, 2008 04:26PM
Hi  I am an ICU RN had have a general neurology question.  My son has tremors in his hands particularly with fine motor coordination tasks.  His Father had the same thing died of colon cancer young age, so no neuro work up was done.  Never occurred to us there might be a problem.  After his death, his brother and mother both have had benign meningioma.  His brother  underwent surgery,  his mother died of chf before they did surgery.  My son complains of daily headaches but he attributes them to allergies, frontal lobe.  He 26 and also has ocd.  Now I've of the new schooling that consider these things neurotransmitter disorders and they should be treated by neurologist not by the pysch. docs, He walks on his tips toes and has a bouncy gait. Should he have MRI to rule out ta meningioma causing tremors, ocd and gait abnormalities?  Mostly I passed his tremors off as genetic but a another physician mentioned his gait and got me thinking.  Should he have a neuro work up  thanks
