enlarged uterus

by mb2teach, Mar 28, 2008 12:13PM
Here's my question. I recently had a CAT scan to determine if there was any cause for my abdominal pain.
The report said that I had a mildly enlarged uterus and some enlarged vascular structures around the uterus. The report also said some small cysts were noted. The recommendation was to see a gynocologist to see if this was something of concern.

I have an appointment for Mar. 31., and am a bit nervous. If I had fibroids, wouldn't they show up on the CAT scan? If there are no fibroids, why else would the uterus be enlarged? I just turned 48 and as of now haven't gone through menopause. Could perimenopause be the cause.?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
