Prior to taking the medication, was a baseline urinalysis done? Was a urine culture done also?
Your symptoms of frequency, urgency and pain in the pelvic area may suggest an underlying urinary tract infection (cystitis) or a prostatic infection.
It is possible to have injured a mucle or a nerve during one of your exercises. This may contribute to the pain. However, a musculoskeletal cause may not explain the increase in urinary frequency and urgency.A nerve disorder may also be considered. However, there seems to be no other associated symptoms like weakness, tingling and burning sensation in other parts of the body.
A repeat urinalysis may be done to assess your response to the medications. A complete prostate examination including culture of prostate secretions may also be needed. Continue to observe your symptoms. Maintain a healthy diet.Avoid alcohol, coffee and spicy food.
Symptoms of urgency, pain and urinary retention seems to point to an obstructive cause. The primary differential will be a prostate problem. You have mentioned that the prostate has been checked twice.Did they find anything in the prostate?
Was a transrectal ultrasound done to evaluate the prostate?PSA levels may also be monitored.
Do you have any change in bowel movement? At this point a stool examination may also be done.
If the abdominal CTscan or MRI ( you had either done right?) comes back normal, you may need to have a cystoscopy done to visualize the bladder.
The pain, urgency, and retention were symptoms that have passed. I have not had pain in a while, only occasional times when it feels like I have to get to the bathroom immediately, the frequency is not what is used to be, and I now only have occasional small losses of bladder control, and it is always after I am done using the restroom and leave. Thanks for all the help so far. This has been going on for a while and is still kind of unsolved.
