3 Year old dribbles and chews constantly

by Leeta77, Mar 28, 2008 07:48PM
I have a nearly 3 year old boy who finished teething months ago. He is always dribbling and chewing everything from toy cars to his clothes to crayons etc. He is a perfectly normal boy. Very busy, very intelligent. Speaks really well, eats really well. We have tried reminding him to swallow his dribble which he does when we tell him but then he forgets. We have also tried to encourage him not to chew things but once again he continues to do it.

Why is he continuing this behavior and what can I do to stop it? Should I take him to the doctor or dentist to get checked?

Thanks

Maybe I'm an oddball out, but my kids stopped teething by the time they were about 1 1/2, they had all their baby teeth.  I would suggest you see your dentist, perhaps there is a reason his teeth aren't coming in yet.

I'm sorry if I'm being rude, I really am not trying but I don't think I know any kids who teethed that long.
