For a long while now my stools have not been normal; soft/mushy and sometimes can't make it to the bathroom in time.  Terrible!  However, two weeks ago on a Saturday I had to call the advice nurse as I was having bad bouts of diarrhea and felt very weak like I was dehydrating.  The nurse gave me an appt. with my doctor on the following Monday. In the mean time  I was advised to eat really bland foods; unsweetened applesauce, jello, broths and Imodium as needed after each movement.  Then on Monday I went to my doctor and was diagnozed with Diverticulosis and was given  Ciprofloxacin and Metronidazole to be taken for 10 days. I've taken them for 4 days now.  I am some better, but still have bad bouts of the diarrhea, especially if I eat something that doesn't agree with me.

When at the doctor's office on Monday he said I could get back to my normal diet when I feel like it.  Now my Question?  What should I be eating now when my stomach is still queasy like it is?  I still have some diarrhea and feel very weak.  I understand that I'm suppose to eat a high fiber diet with lots of fluids, but am afraid to eat like that now.  What would you suggest?

Thanks, as I'm desperate!
