Large dosage in my multi vitamin?

by Jacker, Mar 29, 2008 01:22PM
I used to take a generic muti vitamin that simply offered 100% of everything.  I read that natural vitamins are much better for you than synthetic, so I bought a more expensive version from GNC.  I think that I digest them much better, but it has a pretty large daily dose of B Complex vitamins.  Is this okay for you on a daily basis? It has 3333% of B1, 2941% of b2, 250% of niacinamide and 2500% of B6.  Vitamin E is 333%.  Most of the others are in the 100% range.
I feel okay on it, but is it good for you to take some of these in the higher doses?  It's part of the multi offered as a supplement for men.
I believe the B Complex also makes me unrinate in a bright yellow color during the morning - I noticed this for the first time when I used to consume energy drinks (also with a lot of B vitamins), but I dont' drink those any more.  Any input would be helpful.

Hi Jacker,

I feel the same way. I think percentages in the thousands is way too high. I don't know why companies make vitamins with such high doses. I think they think it doesn't matter, because we will pee out what we don't use.
