Experiencing Pain on my Upper Right Quadran

by Michele212, Mar 29, 2008 10:36PM
Hello, I am a 35 year old female from The Sunshine State and my problem is as follows. You see about 1 month ago "suddenly" I got a severe pain on my right side. Needless to say it has come and gone but now it seems it's chronic. The pain also radiates to my right lower back. I have alot of flatulence and frequent urination. My urine seems a bit cloudy but that could be from inproper hydration. I did a urine test 2 months ago and all came back normal except some traces of white blood cells. Apparently my primary care physician didn't seem to concerned about it.
I did go see my primary care in reference to my pain and told me my intestines were swollen and put me on anti inflammatory medication that makes me sleepier than anything I have ever experienced. I went to see my Gastro and he put me on Nexium being that I have a history of Gastritis. He felt it was both Gastritis and IBS combined. Yet, my pain continues to radiate on my right side and I am somewhat constipated. The stool is a normal color (usually light green since I eat lots of vegetables). Passing gas doesn't help the situation either...I was at the end of myself and hoped that would relieve the pain to a degree. I was wrong. I do get naseau and chills from time to time. Do any of these symptoms sound familiar? Granted, I have to get an abdominal ultrasound done but should I be asking my doctor for any other tests? Blood Tests to determine Liver, Pancreatic or Gallbladder function? Please advise. Your assistance is much appreciated!
