Addicted after just 1 week and a few days (Tramadol)

by Astal, Mar 30, 2008 08:26AM
I was taking it for a pulled muscle in my back. Not expecting to get addicted (i took pain pills before for pain and fun yes stupid) but never for more than 1-2 days. Well now im addicted. Luckily it only takes me 2 50mg pills a day to be normal, im working on cutting it down. I hope to achieve a level where after I stop I wont have much withdrawl. Im diabetic and personally my withdrawl was horrible. I tried to just quit and boy that didnt work.after 1 night and 1 day of torture i couldnt do it. I was so sick, beyond sick. I was having a mental break down. Shaking, crying, horribly pain all over my body. If anyone knows of any herbs that will help please lemme know. Im still really shaking and nervous while taking it and extremely emotionally unstable. To all you people who got through a withdrawl of any kind you should be recognized as heros because it is something no one should ever have to endure.

Thanks. I plan on taking some kola nut and valerian root (supposed to help with withdrawl)  5 hpt is that melatonin or somthing else cause melatonin is for sleep hehehe. I will tell you one thing this is a life changing experience. Something no one should ever have to deal with but sadly so many do.

I have been taking Tramadol for the last 3 years and I was taking about 12 to 13 pills a day. It's my 4th day off of them and I feel better. I want to be normal again , I miss my life with my children. Tramadol will wreck your life, relationships, etc. I still have major back pain, but I'd rather feel that then be a prisoner of that drug any longer. You won'y believe the stories that I had to tell sometimes because of my addicton. You'll make it-I was taking them alot more and longer then you and I'm doing it. It's sucks, it really does going through the w/d's, but after the 4th day you feel like a human agaqin. You feel in control of your life. At least that's how I'm feeling. I don't ever want to take something again that control's my life. If you need anyone to talk to, I'm here, and I know alot about it. Take care of yourself. Cold turkey is the hardest but the best way to get it out of your system.

well i thought the worst was over. I finished tapering down my meds. I worked down to like 1/3rd of a pill. I havent taken any for a good while. I just feel genuinely crappy. I feel sickish nothing compared to what happened when i tried to stop cold turkey. I have no energy today. I have some slight chills and a little bit of stomach discomfort. Im so depressed right now its not even funny though. Im practically crying as I type this. I was depressed before even taking pain pills and now its 10x worse. Id rather not go on prescription anti depressants cause ive never talked to a single person they worked for. Is there anything I can take to help with the lack of energy and depression? I know it will be better after a while of being off the pills completely. Im sitting here at home no job (had to leave my last job due to me being sick all the time and my car getting totaled) Im 22 and my life is absolutely garbage, it seems like it will never get better :(.

My fiance broke up with me in october, i quit my job in november, in march I pull a muscle in my back so I cant lift weights for a good while which made me feel really good. I took pain pills for the back pain got addicated, stopped taking them and now am extremely depressed. I still have to go get an ultrasound because of a lump on my  one testicle. I know life could be a lot worse its just everything seems so pointless and hopeless today.

Maybe I will smoke some weed later today it always helps imo its probably one of the most helpful substances out there and its illegal lol. Go figure. Ill be checking back. Ill talk to you guys later.
