Im going to be 45. I have a 3 year old and a 23 year old.

I have to say this much. Having my 3 year old at 41 was the best choice I have ever made.

Congrats to all you over 35 Mamas

Love to hear that!!!

I'm due in 6wks and freak out from time-to-time about having a baby at 40!

I am a mom of 2, I had my first child @ 34 & my 2nd @ 35.  I enjoyed my 20's went out w/ friends, vacationed all over.  By the time I got married I was more than ready for kids.  My sister who turned 40 in Jan is preg w/ her 2nd child, her first one is will be 22 months when he/she is born.  I give her a ton of credit, there is a big difference in having a baby @ 35, then one @ 40.  I give anyone having a baby @ 40 a BIG thumbs up!  YEAH for the older Mom's!!!!  cpatow, let us know how you make out.

Same boat for me.  44 with a 3 year old beautiful daughter.  Best thing that ever happened to me.
Anytime before 40 would not have made me the best Mom I could be.  My only regret is not being able to have more.  IVF on the way.   Wish me luck

I love being prego at 35....the only thing I could see is in my 20's I probably wouldnt worry near as much as I do as an other mom. But I too lived life in my 20's and didnt get married til i was over 30...call me a late bloomer.

HI!!
Had my precious little Christopher on 5/13 via c-section and so far the only difference between delivering when I was 30, 34 and 40 has been a longer surgery recovery time now at 40, but that could be because my incision became infected and it's just taking longer.

Baby-wise he's SO great! So far not fussy at all really, but I know that sets in typically between the 2nd and 4th week so we've still got some time to be praying about that! He's a great eater (have to do formula, can't nurse) and a good sleeper. And my other two kids, especially my 9 yr old daughter....OMG they are just fantastic helps. My 7 yr old son is a bit stand-off-ish but is warming up slowly. I think he's scared of the baby b/c he's so small!

I've been overwhelmed a couple of times thinking, OMG everything is going to be so much more complicated now with a baby and we'll be changing diapers for 3 years, blah blah blah, but it's all those normal hormones-crashing emotions we all go through. From the moment I heard his little cry in the OR I knew it was all meant to be and we were so incredibly happy.

Now my greatest "worry" is setting a good schedule for the summer with my older kids and the baby so my older kids are not sitting on their rumps playing video games or watching TV all summer. I'm worried about having the energy to a) sign them up for good summer activities and camps and b) getting them there! But that's really my only worry, so we'll "deal" :0).

I'll be posting my thoughts and questions and things b/c I'll be needing lots of advice, that's for sure!!

I too have had a great pregnancy & birth (well kind of).  The difference I've noticed between this time and others is that I have more help this time around than previous times, however, dh's going to be out of town for a few days so I'm on my own.  I have a dh who's 15 whos is a tremendous help because Noah can be a little toot.  He's had colic from the get-go but the fam's so good w/him.  I wish my other children lived closer to us as they are so good w/him also.

We wanted this baby very badly and are so thankful to be blessed w/him - even when he's crying w/a nasty tummy ache.  Bless his heart!  I hate to see him so uncomfortable but he has a good dr who takes good care of him (as well as Mommy).

I have to agree that having children at my age has been great!  My daughter is 18 and this is a whole new experience.  There is pros and cons about both but I am loving it more now.  Oh, I have an almost 2 yr old and I am due in August.  :)
