There is hope

by Pinksmything, Mar 30, 2008 10:53PM
To those who have been diagnosed with Bladder cancer there is hope.
I was so afraid when my husband was diagnosed.  He had his tumors removed (2 of them) and they were almost or slighly envading the bladder wall (Doctor was unsure).  My husband had BCG treatments every week for many weeks and multiple scopes of his bladder (ouch).  With many, many prayers and treatment, he has now been diagnosed as cancer free.  (Yes, we are aware that cancer can come back but this is good news in spite of the negative report we first received)
SO... if you are a spouse of someone with cancer.  It's so scary.  I can relate.
But what I've learned is there is hope.  I'm so greatful to the Lord for healing him!
I will pray for you all and pray for anyone who requests prayer.  God bless you!  Janet

Hi,

We appreciate your sincere post and the encouraging words. Also, thumbs up for the fight that you and your husband have successfully won.

It would help others to be motivated by your example and not lose the hope to carry on.

Keep up the good work.

Regards.

Thank you for your encouraging words.   My husband is going to be having the BCG treatments soon. Your words have reassured me. We have to wait, though, for his prednisone dosage to go down to 5mg or less before they can begin (taking the prednisone for Giant Cell Art).    As soon as that happens,we will be on the doorstep of the Urology clinic to make his first appt.

Realizing that everybody is different (on how they react to different meds/treatments), can you tell me if your husband had any side effects from the BCG?   I just want to be prepared.  I have read that 'flu symptoms' are the most common side effects.

Again thank  you to both of  you for your words.
