Electro Pain relief no covered

by damon123, Mar 31, 2008 09:29AM
I have severe lumbar spine problems, I've been taken off NSAIDS due to long term use, I can not & will not take narcs,
and 5 surgeons refuse to operate. My only hope is pain management.
My pain Doctor wants me to use one of the newer Elctro therepies, one that is
supposed to be much better than my 10 year old TENS unit, but Cigna will not
pay for the unit. WHY ?

Dear damon123,

That is a good question for your Carrier. I recommend contacting their membership services & ask them the reason behind not covering the new unit! Is it because they don't cover any Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation unit because it is not a covered benefit, or they won't cover a new unit unless the old one is broken beyond repair!?

Sincerely,

Amir Mostafaie
