Visable Neck vein

by Cristan, Mar 31, 2008 07:48PM
Hey all,
I have an 19 month old child who has a vein that buldges and becomes visable when he cries.  It is only visable when he cries, strains, gets excited or yells.  I call my doc and the nurse told me that is is normal for a childs veins to become visable during these times and said no need to schedule an appoinment based on that.  She also said to just ask the doc on the next visit.  My only problem is that when I googled this I found so many scary things on heart problems.  There was not much found on this topic but what I did find scared me.  I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this on thier children or if you all think it is normal.  During rest, sleep, talking, running or playing you can not see this vein.  Any thoughts would be helpful, I hope you all have a wonderful night.  Thanks in advance for all you help.
Thanks
Cristan
