Frustrated!!!!

by evthing4reason, Apr 01, 2008 06:37AM
I have been doing yoga a few times a week, getting on my exercise bike a few times a week(only for a short time but have worked my way to 20 minutes!)---probably doing something 4-5 days a week. Plus I am watching what I eat for the most part and watching my portion size and drinking lots of water and I'm not seeing ANY results, if anything the scale is going up! I am sooooooo frustrated, I wanted to lose(starting a week ago)  3lbs more beofre my trip next week and now its more like 6lbs......what am I doing wrong???I bought a skirt last week for my trip (it was a little snug but wearable) thinking I'd lose a few plus get more toned...well i have to take it back today because there is no way I can wear it comfortably, i can hardly do up the button now.

Our bodies can play real tricks on us.  First of all, you could be gaining muscle which weighs more.  Are you "feeling" lighter?  Do not go by the scale.  Also, our monthly cycles can definitely screw us up with water gain, etc.  Could it be that?  I have found that sometimes it will take a week or two to see results for a few weeks back.  Don't give up!  Also, if you are normally at your goal weight a variation of 5 pounds happens for no reason and it is also much harder and takes much longer to take off 3 pounds.
