Need to leave NOW but.....

by triedeverymed, Apr 03, 2008 09:57PM
I was diagnosed bipolar last summer and I had to move in with my ex-husband because I can't work right now. It takes time to get the meds right and they aren't. Anyway, he's right back to controlling and yelling at me. He is so sick he doesn't want me to go and I hate him-how sick!
I'm afraid I won't get better under this stress load but I have no place to go. My family is 2000 miles away and we have a 9year old who I can't take yet he can't watch if I leave.
What in God's name do I do. I tried to leave for a hotel the other night when I was really sick and he said he would change the locks and keep my things. then he threw all my clothes on the floor and said get out. I did but no hotels due to march madness so I slept in my car and came home to see my son off to school because he called me very upset. What a mess. Any ideas??

i say maybe look into a shelter if it gets too bad. Also maybe see if you can stay with someone you are close with maybe friends or family? I know time is hard. try to keep your chin up

Thank you. The meds are starting to work and I'm getting ready to look for part time work. Really feeling better today.

what a difference a few days make. My mania is under control and I feel so much better. I'm going to get through this just fine,I know it. I beat a long addiction to prescrition pills, I can beat bipolar too! I used those crisis lines like you said and through them I found support groups and even have some job options. Part time for now.
Thanks so much again,
Erin
