Just out of interest, has anybody been placed on the contraceptive pill for preventing further ovarian cysts? And if so is it effective? Ive been placed on a hig dose pill as a last resort to try prevent further cysts and Im just wondering if this has been the case for anyone else?

Hello, I was placed on birth control called Yaz.  Birth control does help prevent cysts.  I had to come off of it due to a medical condition.  I went back to the Obgyn Wednesday and found out a cyst had burst.  They did help me while I was on them..

I also am currently on desogen birth control pills. It's normal for your doctor to prescribe contraceptives for a number of things, PCOS being one of them so don't worry!! I hope you do well on them :)
