I cannot get rid of strep

by crayons, Apr 04, 2008 02:53PM
I am a female in my 30s in otherwise good health. I have had strep often throughout my life and also have nasal allergies.

I got strep in November, and in January. In late Feb- early March, I got it a third time and was prescribed Z-pack. Three days after the Z-pack ended, it came right back. I called the doctor and got another Z-pack. Three days later it came back. I went to UC and got a 500mg 3x a day, 7 day prescription of Amoxicillian. Today is day 5, so I am still taking the Amox., and the symptoms came back last night.

My throat hurts, I feel weak and tired, I am nauseated and getting headaches. Could this be a super bug?
