Small bubble like blisters on eyeballs when tired or strained

by lmmock12, Apr 05, 2008 09:29AM
For the last several years I get small bubble like blisters on my eyeballs, usually showing up when I am tired or have done a lot of eye strain.  The first one I ever had is one my right eye, it comes and goes but when it shows up it is always in the same place.  About a year ago I developed one on my left eye.  They do not hurt, but you can feel them when they blink.

I told my eye doctor about it a few years ago and he thought I was crazy,  I had a chance to see another eye doctor one day when the bubble appeared, but I cannot remeber what he called it.  I do believe that it has something to do with lymphatic, but all I do remember is that he said it was something that sailers used to develop years ago.  Does anyone know what I am talking about???

Sounds like a clear conjuctival cyst.  There is little you can do for them other than simple observation or ophthlamologist quickly puncturing them at slit lamp or sometimes a quick superficial partial excision if very large.  Sometimes I will puncture them but let  patient know they may come back.  Usually best to leave it alone if is is a c onjuctival cyst.  Artificial tears and/or allergy drops may help with symptoms.

Thank you so much for this information.  I do remeber the doctor saying that he would not puncture it and it would be best if it ruptured by itself.  I will try the tears to see if that helps.
