One thing is: Don't use heat as much as you use ice. Ice keeps inflammations down.
Warm up, stretch carefully and cool down if the sports are too much on the tendons.
My suggestion is that you see a physiotherapist if it has been an ongoing problem.
Exercises that aggravates ache are to be discontinued - but aches that go away are harmless.
