fistula surgery

by akteech, Apr 06, 2008 06:54PM
I have what we believe is a high rectovaginal fistula.  It was not found by surgeon under anethesia, so we assume it is higher up and will require open abdominal surgery to locate and repair.
What should I expect with surgery such as this?
What is involved, surgery time, recovery time, I teach school and don't know if this can be done and then go back to teaching in a week or two?
I had a small bowel resection 2 1/2 years ago, and have Crohn's and am currently on Humira for the last 7 months.
Thanks
