Changed OB's - Scheduled new Appointment

by durhamjk1, Apr 07, 2008 09:14AM
I decided to change OB's - b/c I am moving and want to have one at the hospital that will be closer to my new home.  My new OB wants me to come in tomorrow, whereas the other didn't want to see me for another 2 weeks.  However, I am just going in for a blood test to confirm pregnancy (other ob did not want to do that).  I think I am going to like this new OB and hospital better than the one I would have used.  I am also happy to have made the change before my first appointment.  Has anyone else seen and OB or had a blood test yet?

Okay so I wasn't going to tell anyone at work about my pregnancy for a while, but now I guess I have too, b/c my students heard me making the phone call to new dr's office and now they know-so it is going to spread like wildfire.  I teach high school and high school kids can't keep their mouths shut - so i guess I am going to have to spill the beans to the faculty and administration.  I hate bringing attention to myself.

Yes I was thinking the same thing today, when to spill the beans and actually my husbands 2 good friends just told us that they are preganant as well!  One due in October and the other due when I am, the first week in December.  We are going to wait until after the first trimester to let our work and friends know, but we will our families (even though I've told my mother, 2 out of 4 sisters, and 1 of my brothers, already, WOOPS) at 10 weeks for Mothers Day!
I have my appt next week, so I guess we'll see how it goes.  For whatever reason the closer I get the more nervous I get.  I just hope it all goes well.

blood test came back positive (which I already knew) - so now I am made appointment for next week - 4/15 - to have check-up with nurse practicioner.  No ultrasound scheduled yet.  She has me down as 7 weeks 5 days along - and I am actually just 6 weeks today - I guess they are going to go by my LMP - when in reality I am not that far along, b/c I have long periods.  I didn't Ovulate until - 3/12, but LMP was 2/14.  SO I guess we will have to just wait and see how this plays out.
