single fiber EMG

by maggiemag, Apr 07, 2008 11:14PM
Has anyone had a single fiber EMG done?  Exactly how painful is it?  I think they are doing the diaphragm at a minimum and possibly other muscles as well.  I was told that there is a small risk of pneumothorax, but the guy is supposedly very skilled.  I have unilateral ptosis plus resp. muscle weakness.  My other EMG was normal and the MG lab was negative.  I would really appreciate any info!
