shortness of breath

by Kel1885, Apr 08, 2008 10:23AM
I have had a shortness of breath as well as occasional chest pain for months now. After seeing my doctor, I have completed an EKG, chest x-ray, stress test, and complete PFT..all which were normal. I still have shortness of breath and my doctor now wants me to get a 2D echo done. I'm wondering if it is some kind of asthma? I am 23 years old and relatively active. I am a somewhat anxious person and stressed. Could you tell me if I should be having tests done for my lungs or for my heart? Thank you so much for your help!

If you think you might have asthma you might consider going to a pulmanologist and having a methcoline challenge test done.  It can determine rather you have asthma or not for sure.  It is a good way to rule it out or diagnose it.
