Concerned about being separated from my toddler

by murphytina, Apr 08, 2008 02:49PM
I have taken a job 800 miles from home and the plan is that the whole family will move.  I am home 1 week a month and this has been going on for three months.  The last time  I was home my 22 month old son, alex, did not know me when I asked him "where is mommy".  My husband refuses to move with the kids until his finishes one class at the local community college, this class is not even transferable when we move.  He is studying early education and says that it is ok for me and my kids to be separated.  I am finding this whole situation devastating and have been begging him to move, but he refuses.

Is this effecting my kids?  I think it is, but he is telling me that the books and experts say that my kids will be ok and we can extend the separation another 6 weeks.

it is hard when you and your husband cannot agree when would be the right time to move.  although it is hard on you, your kids and husband in the long run once everyone is moved no lasting damage will have occured.  another 6 weeks will be hard but it will go by fast.
