Tertiary Lyme and MRI

by watertiger, Apr 09, 2008 10:07AM
If a person was infected 8 years prior to diagnosis and has neurological symptoms, will this always show up in an MRI? Are the neuro symptoms always a result of plaques in white matter or can a person have a clear MRI but still experience neurological effects of Lyme? If this person's Western blot is positive, but the MRI is clear, can the neuro symptoms still be attributed to Lyme? Thank You.

I don't know if I have Lyme disease yet, but have neuro symptoms and normal MRI, I have had these same symptoms for 7 years now.  I have read where you can have Lyme disease and have normal MRI.  What are your symptoms?  Did you get tested through IGENEX?
