overdraining shunt

Just wanted to post a response to Amy's question. My son was over draining for 8 months and no pattern to what was occuring. He had every test possible ( mri, ct, xray, etc.) and also was put on diamox. Did better for a while on diamox for some strange reason . But finally was in constant pain, and we convinced our nsg to replace the valve to a flow valve because we were convinced he was over draining after talking to another nsg in Dallas. The valve was replaced and our son has been doing great ever since. I hope our pain of seeing our son in pain helps you move on a little quicker! Good luck!
