is this rectal prolapse or something else?  It appeared after several hours of lower middle abdominal pain, and pain between the legs behind the testicals.     I'm a 32 yr old male.

Hi nextwhat,
It could be either rectal prolapse or a prolapsed hemorrhoid. It can be confirmed only after clinical examination.

But since you are only 32 years, the diagnosis according to me is only hemorrhoids.

You need consult your doctor who will examine you and say whether it rectal prolapse or hemorrhoids.

Hello There,

I did not look at the photo, but this hit close to home with me. I had a rectal prolapse in 2006, I would use the bathroom and notice that when i push that something would come out and then go right back in, I looked and it was a good size round red ball like coming out. I had a colonapsy ( big mistake ) they said its internal hemrroids, I asked how is that when its coming out and huge they said oh we didnt see that. Thats because they blow up the colon and look inside. They sent me back to my Fam Doctor.

He was the one that said it is a rectal prolapse and sent me to surgeon, she didn't think it was UNTIL she did an exam, They HAVE to do the exam to know for sure if its your colon or a hemrroid and they put something inside to bring the colon out. my spexter musle where lose , I had to have surgey, she sow my colon to my tailbone and cut foot 1/2 of my large intestine off, I now have back pain ( badly ) and colitis.. BUT you do need your colon to be intact, I went thru this in 06 , they did my surgery thru the stomach. I guess in reality it does not matter your age I was 25 , they thought I was to young and she had no answers as to why it did what it did, she only thought iut could have been much strain from my antidepress meds... You need a Doctor to do a phsyical exam to determin for sure what it is.

God bless you always, hang in there, I made it thru.. be strong and know you can get thru anything (( hugs ))
