type of pneumonia

by bens_mom, Apr 09, 2008 10:33PM
I have been having a few problems with my son and his doctors.  His throat culture came back and said he has
Organism 1.  Moderate:  Haemophilius Influenzae
Organism 2.  Moderate:  Klebsiella Oxytoca

The first one I can gather would be the flu, but the second one I asked his doctor about and wasnt given an answer so I was wondering if anyone knew more about this bacteria.  My son has just done 3 rounds of antibiotics since February and is now finally showing some improvment from being ill.  We are going out of town to see some specialists for some lung issues and I am wondering if this one bacteria is responsible for some of his issues (ie: Atalectasis, Air bronchograms, Left upper lobe nodularity etc.

His doctors think he has asthma but he was sick when he was diagnosed with it because of the type of cough he has had for months and months.  I am wondering if this Klebsiella Oxytoca is the responsible party for his cough.  If anyone knows anything please let me know....and thank you so much.
