Right side pain and spotting at 29wks.

by CandaceSatterly, Apr 10, 2008 07:21AM
I’ll start off by saying I am a very physically active 20 year old, expecting my first child in June, 08. Currently I am at 29 wks. With my entire pregnancy I have had random and steadily intensifying right side pain, usually starts right below my ribs and shoots to my spine and pelvis. Comes and goes usually every mouth or so and lasting several days. Doctors really haven’t identified anything and have prescribed mussel relaxers which I avoid taking in all costs. I had the worst battle with this early this week and which included some red mucous discharge ( not a lot), severe pain, nausea, and cramp/ripping type pain. My daughters movements remained normal so I opted to wait for a doctors appointment the in the morning then heading on into the hospital ( Which may or may-not have been a mistake). My doctor after a very brief consultation sent me for a ultra sound to look for kidney stones. The ultra sound tech. said she didn’t see anything obvious, but my doctor ( 4 days later) still hasn’t had time read results. What else could this be caused by? Are kidney stones common or complicating factors of pregnancy? The spotting and in intense pain has stopped, but my side has now become increasingly sore. Any advice or things to read on and check would be wonderful. I am at a point I would really like to find another doctor but I’m very limited heading into my 3rd trimester. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have heard of women having kidney stones when they are pregnant but I don't know very much about it.  I can imagine how frustrated you are, not getting any answers and waiting for results for days.  If you have another spell of the intense pain or spotting, I would probably just go on to the ER if by then you are still getting no where with your OB.  You could also try going to your regular family doctor.  Sorry I don't have more information for you, but I hope you feel much better soon.
