Hi I am hoping that someone on here will be able to answer my questions. For a while now I have been wondering if there are certain aspects of my behaviour which would be classed as abnormal.

When I was very young, probably about 4 years old I had the usual imaginary friend like most kids do that I used to talk to.  I would invent a whole world with them in it and completely isolate myself from the real world.  However, I am now 20 and I still find I do this, I pretend that people from the media (celebrities, actors, singers etc.) are with me and I have conversations with them!  No one knows I do this, but it's like I invent a whole world with them in it.  I feel embarassed at telling you this as well.

Also I think I sometimes get feelings of depression, I have never had any suicidal thoughts or thoughts of harming myself, but I do feel down and alone, which I think is why I invent this imaginery world.   I know that these people aren't really with me.  I find myself feeling quite emotional at times as well for no apparent reason.

I am hoping someone can give me some advice on maybe to get back to some kind of normality.

Many thanks

There is no way to give you the complete answer you are looking forward, but in most cases like you describe, its a matter of simply being lonely, and having a wonderfully creative imagination....what you need to do is develop good strong friendships, and work that is meaningful to you that can put your imagination to work in reality...that takes some psychological work and growing up on your  part, and you may need some psychotherapeutic help to make that happen faster.

Thank you for your advice.  I guess I was just looking for reassurance that there wasn't something serioulsy wrong with me - mentally speaking.  You mentioned psycotherapeutic help, what exactly does this entail, is it something that you would need to get professional help for or are there self-help tips that can help?

Hi There

Iam not a medical practioner but an engineer and also practicing spiritualist. I personally believe that there is a lot more to the complex nature of the human mind and intellect then what  the scientific world has realised over the years. Its unfortunate that such observations are dispelled as imaginary purely because the scientific community doesnt have the appropriate tools to measure such phenomena. It is because of this divide between these two areas of though that concrete solutions are not always available.

My spiritual observations and realisation correlate with your experience. The mind is like an energy body(ghostly form) which coexists with the gross or physical body. It has the ability to migrate between the gross body and the external world travelling at quantum speeds. It can serve the role of a friend or an enemy. Its supernatural abilities is perhaps the key to the attainment of mystic perfection by great sages and yogis. By me merely meditating on a family member it can immediately be by there side and is not restricted by geographical contraints. It can console, convey information to the recipient an even listen in on dialogues between people and feed this back to me. It is also attuned to the cosmos by hearing the rising and setting of planetary bodies and stars. If harnessed  appropriately by an expert practioner it can achieve supernatural feats at the same time it can also be destructive.  My suggestion is think positively and your mental body will act in unison.
