Mercury Poisoning

About 3 months ago I broke a thermomiter in my bathroom sink( I called poison control and they said just clean up what you can, open the windows and shut the door and that its nothing to worry about) I dont think I got all the mercury out, my dad said most of it was in the thermomiter (Is that even possible?). I threw out the thermometer in my trash outside and cleaned up what mercury i could find. I keept the door shut and window open for 24 hours and dident use the bathroom much for about a week.

But the odd thing is: I have anxiety disorder and get a lot of odd symptoms, recently I have had symptoms similar to that of mercury poisoning that im pretty sure are related to anxiety (Chills, tingling, muscle twitches ETC.). I had 2 sets of blood tests done and a urine test done (Not because of the mercury, but because of something else) about 2 weeks ago.

Could it be possible that I have dangerous levels of mercury in me? Or would have the tests picked it up?

Mercury poisoning is a very serous condition, I am poisoned from working in a dental office for 22 years. If you are concerned, you could have a hair analysis done. Blood tests just do not work. In addition, a 24 hour urine test could help.

I do not know what some of these people are talking about but I have researched this for years. My condition came from 22 years of exposure and you are probably OK but if for piece of mind just get the hair analysis.

If you are seriously concerned about mercury, go get tested for it.

You might have to visit a complementary provider (N.D.) to get an acurate test, as well as someone who will take you more seriously,

Unfortunately most mainstream MDs don't treat or acknowledge mercury toxicity.

I remember PLAYING with mercury as a child.  My grandfather had some in a jar.  He knew it was dangerous but I guess he thought if I played with it only for a few minutes each year I'd be okay.  He'd pour a little into aluminum pan and give me a magnet to slide around underneath.  It was pretty cool.

I wasn't allowed to touch the mercury and had to wash my hands thoroughly when I was done.  Anyway, I'm thirty years old and I think if I had Mercury poisoning I'd know by now.

I remember wondering if it would turn into a solid if I were to put it in the refrigerator.

Hi, Thanks so much for the fast response.

I got my tests results back and all was 100% good.
But i read somewhere thatsimple tests do not diagnose mercury poisoning?

And Ryan, It was one of those old thermomiters, I remember staring at that dreaded mercury. It looked like little silver balls

Thanks again.

Did you get your test reslults back? If you did and it's normal then I really think it's anxiety. The symptoms you mentioned with tingling, muscle twitches..etc are very much so anxiety related.

Hope you feel better!
