surgery date

by chloe08, Apr 11, 2008 03:27PM
hi there
i'm having surgery may 15 for a suspected endometrioma (i'm hoping that is what it is).
the plan is also to do a full hysterectomy given my hx (endometriosis, endometrioma removed 2yrs ago, pain, adhesions etc).
i'll be sure to let you all know the results.
not sure whether it will be able to be done laparoscopically vs abdominally as he won't know until he gets in there.
i am having it done by a gyn/onc so i feel good about that.

Hello, Dear,

Best of luck to youon your surgery in May. Remind us all about the date again when it gets close so we can be as supportive as you need. Of course, we are always here in the mean time if you have questions or just want to talk.

Hopefully, everything can be done laparoscopically vs abdominally. It will make your recovery a little easier. Good job on getting the gyn/onc....it is always best to be fully prepared, and they are the best ones for the job. Keep up your positive attitude. That is going to help you tremendously. Take care!!!!

Hugs,
Shari

Thank you for letting us know. I'll put your date in my notebook so I can be checking up on you before and after. It would be nice to know whether you'll have laparoscopy or open incision but I understand the doctor can never be sure. Sorry you have to wait so long. That's almost as hard as the recovery. Stay in touch and we'll be cheering you on.
