prenatal diagnoses via Amnio

I had a prenatal diagnosis of down syndrome based on the amnio I had. they have counted a 3rd copy of #21 chromosome. :(
How many of you have children with D/S and do they have it mildly or not?
DH and I are 21 y/o and this is our first baby in the 2 1/2 yrs we've been married.
I'd just love some advice.
Also, for those who ask. I had the amnio because the baby already had as %50/50 of having a rare skin disorder that I have.

My son has DS and he is an exceptional person. I worked in the field of People with Disabilities and have come to know them as true people. They do not have the tendencies to do anything evil , they are more alike everyone else than different. Hope you have a great delivery and enjoy your new baby, any other children that come along later will have a loving companion, my other 4 children have learned to be special people because of their brother .
