An intense soreness from left hip down through my Leg...

by Volde, Apr 11, 2008 09:58PM
Hi,

I'm hoping some can help, starting wednesday when I woke up in the morning, my left leg has an intense soreness like i just worked out for a very long time and it persists throughout the day, the sensation seems to get better when i walk and stand and workout, and gets worse when i sit.

Before this I also had a severe back tension and my left arm felt slightly weak/tingly.

I work in internet so I'm sitting and typing literally 15 hours a day, and i'm sure my posture is bad.

I'm planning to see a GP soon, but do you all think this is just a nerve problem or could it be something more serious?

I'm 21 by the way.  Very worried, thanks!

Hi, probably it is due to nerve compression may be at lower spine level or sciatica. Please get MRI spine done rule out this possibility. This condition is called lumbar spondylosis.

“Sciatica is a set of symptoms including pain that may be caused by general compression and/or irritation of one of five nerve roots that give rise to the sciatic nerve or by compression or irritation of the sciatic nerve itself. The pain is felt in the lower back, buttock, and/or various parts of the leg and foot. In addition to pain, which is sometimes severe, there may be numbness, muscular weakness, and difficulty in moving or controlling the leg. Typically, the symptoms are only felt on one side of the body”. Taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sciatica
