Why can't I stop eating?

I have 3 children and since 1 month after giving birth to my first child I started taking antidepressants for anxiety and post natal depression. I have been taking them for about four and a half years now and have tried Luvox, Aropax, Lexapro, and am now on Citalopram, which I've been on for about 1 1/2 years. So I have also been overweight since having my first child and honestly, despite my best efforts to get slim ( I'm fairly fit and eat quite healthily), I keep sabotaging myself and binge eating, almost every other day. So I don't lose the weight. My question is, could the binge eating be a result of the medication? Usually, I'm not even hungry and just force myself to eat anyway....

No, the binge eating is not caused by the medication but by the underlying anxiety and depression.  Food is being used as an additional medicine to deal with the anxiety episodes that are not covered by the medication.  Antidepressants only help with the symptoms but not the underlying cause so I recommend you look seriously into help for your emotional eating and  binging since it will be the only way that you can lose weight and keep it off permanently.  You can get more ***@****.

When you experience the uncontrolled hunger of medication then you should try answering that question ... and  not before.
