Lump on reconstruction scar

by pinkbunnies, Apr 13, 2008 01:12PM
I had breast cancer in Nov 06. I had a mastectomy and  radiotherapy  and now take tamoxifen. I had a LD reconstruction in October 2007 and just recently I have felt a very tiny lump on the scar of my reconstruction.

I am very worried that it has returned. What happens if it has if I have a reconstruction. Will  I have to have chemo?

Dear pinkbunnies:  There are many possible explanations for a lump along the scar, including scar tissue itself.  Without evaluation, it is impossible to speculate on what this lump may be.  You should see your doctor for evaluation.  Next steps will depend upon what the lump turns out to be.
