possibility of pregnant after endometriosis

by soul_out, Apr 14, 2008 11:19PM
HI there.

Im 28 years old and i had been trying to conceive since Oct 2006 but it never come true. My 1st Doctor examined me and my  husband and told us that we are fine and we had been catogarized as 'Unexplained infertility'.

In Sept 07, i had been dianogsed by 2nd Doctor with endometriosis and according to my 2nd Doctor, this could be the cause of my infertility.

The treatment i was taken was hormone injection for 6 months and my last injection was on end Feb 08.

I've been told that one month after i've completed my last injection, my menstrual cycle will get back to normal.

May i know that after i have completed my treatment of endometriosis, is that means that my chances of getting pregnant is increased? when shall i try to conceive?

After a year of trying to conceive without knowing that i was suffering from endometriosis, i was completely stressed out and fed up on it. Im scare to try now but i really want a baby.

I really wish i could get pregnant immediate after my treatment completed.

Any good advice? Please......

hi there im sorry you haven't had much luck conceiving as yet but please try to stay positive eveyone who has endo is different i know people like myself who have a moderate case of endo to get pregnant no problem now myself had a laparscopy to treat my endo just in feb 08 there was quite alot there so they lasered it off and removed a
cyst as well now after they have done this you are more fertile than before and the doctor recommended that the best chances of concieving is within 9 months of having the procedure before it grows back so there is still hope i like yourself am worrrying all the time about not been able to concieve but i believe that there will be a good chance so in a month or two im having the coil they fitted me removed to try and conceive as it causes me so much discomfort and i had to have fitted to stop the endo growing back as bad so i will keep you posted good luck stay strong please let me know how you go on and what the doctors have advised you take care bex :-)

Here is my story w/the endo and PCOS.... I had an ectopic pregnancy at 19...no mention of the endo at that time. As I got older and periods more painful had it checked out. My HMO sent me to a dr who did a lap said I had endo didn't clean it all out just closed me back up and wanted to put me on lupron. I declined....I was single not trying for a baby at the time and just suffered for 2 more years. Found a great fertility dr. she did a lap cleaned me all out but told me I would need help getting pregnant couldn't do it on my own. My husband was told he had a 90% chance of being sterile due to hernias wrapped around his testicles as a child. So we decided OK we will just spoil our nieces and nephews and WHAM we were pregnant w/o trying.

My point is just relax and let nature take its course. Easier said than done. Stress will do crazy stuff to your body!

I also have a friend who did Lupron and has gotten pregnant 3 times after each lupron cycle.

I had a terrible time with endo.  It all started when we began seeing a fertility doctor after trying for a year with no luck.  I had IVF 5 times and 7 laps for endo. I was going in every 8 months to get it cleaned out. They ended up having to take my left ovary it was totally covered up. During the surgery they also flushed dye thru my tubes to see if they were open.  They said that if there was any blockage that the force of the dye can open them up. We had been trying for ten years and  I figured my chances were over to have any children after they had to take out the ovary.  Three months later I was pregnant.  The doctor said that the tube on my left side was blocked so by removing that ovary it allowed me to ovulate on the right side every month which increased my chances by 50%.  Two years after giving birth to a beautiful baby boy the endo was back again. I went in for another lap and  a month later I was pregnant again.

We spent 10 years and over $50,000 trying to had a baby.  We were totally stessed out.  I agree with Joann stress can do crazy things to your body.  I was 38 when I finally got pregnant with my son and 40 when I had my baby girl.  Don't ever give up, God's timing is not always our timing so try to be patient, I know better than anyone how hard that is, but is does put a lot of stress on our body. I will keep you in my prayers and I wish you the best of luck.
