I've had a TSH of 49 now @ 1.59, a anti-TPO of 608 and a Total T3 of 81.8
been on Synthroid 200mcgs qd and now started onCytomel 12mcg qd
The Dr has mentioned myxedema but never Hashimoto's.
Is the treatment appropriate?

The TPOab of 608 and the TSH of 49 would strongly indicate Hashimoto's. As a non-professional I'd say yes. Sorry.

A Total T3 test is a terrible, outdated test.
A Free T3 test should be run, and a Free T4 to compare it to.

You're on a huge dose of hormones, and without more history I hesitate to answer the last question.

How long did it take your TSH to drop from 49 to 1.59?
How long have you been on this dosage of meds?
Are you going to stay on this dosage for long?
Were you on a lower dose before?
Why is your doctor running such a poor T3 test on you?
Do you have a thyroid history?
