Please Help !!!

by Embarrassed175, Apr 15, 2008 10:07AM
OK, turns out I'm just as despicable as any other guy. I cheated. And that's not my only "secret".
Here is the sequence of events which have led me here.
Jan 6th - cheated
   -recieved and gave oral (unprotected)
   -recieved oral-anal (unprotected)
-recieved anal sex with a condom
Jan 7th
-masturbated with object to stimulate prostate (object is organic and porous material)
Jan 9th
   -began having symptoms
-urgency to void bladder (every 1/2 hour or so)
-general pain and discomfort in entire pelvic region
Jan 10th
-went to clinic for std testing
-swab test for chlamydia/gonorrhea, blood tests for HIV/syphilis
-prescribed antibiotics to begin while awaiting test results
Jan 15th
   - all tests negative
   - had already taken the "all at once" antibiotic on the 10th(four pills)
-had taken five days of 10 day antibiotic course
   - stopped all treatment at this time
Symptoms went away after about three weeks on their own.

Feb 23rd
-Again used same object in anal masturbation
Mar 1
   -Symptoms return
      -urgency to void bladder
-pain in all of pelvic area
Mar 4
   -return to doctor
-Dr. suggests possibility of herpes, prostatitis, epididimitis
-Dr. is not informed of anal masturbation, only cheating history
-Dr. prescribes acyclovir as a guess
Mar 11
-Acyclovir ineffective and no sores or blisters manifest
-Dr. prescribes 30 day dose of Cipro
-Dr. does rectal exam, urinalisis, and blood HSV tests(neg)

With Cipro
   -urgency to void diminishes
-symptoms resolve to localized pain in urethra, perineum, and rectum
-symptoms are worse at night than in the morning

No change, after one month of Cipro symptoms persist
April 11
   -return to Dr.
-receive penicillin shot and one dose powdered antibiotic (in case original swab test was false)
April 15th
   - still suffering, no end in sight

could cipro interfere with the targeted antibiotics?
what are the non-std possibilities here?
can anal fissure cause all these symptoms?

Am uninsured and unemployed so loads of expensive tests are impossible!
Thanks for any input auntjessie. Could you refer this post to a doctor's response?

here is a list of all my symptoms. They come and go independently of each other with varying degrees of intensity. Symptoms related to the rectum are diminished when genital symptoms worsen, and visa versa. Symptoms are made worse by sitting or lying on back.

frequent urgency to pee
stinging pain in tip of penis
dull pain in urethra and base of penis
tingling in scrotum
testicular pain (later in day)
perineum pain
skin irritation (underside of penis, perineum, anus)
pain in rectum
mucus with formed stools
pain in groin muscles and thighs
lower back pain (both sides)
stomach pain (lower left quadrant)
fatigue
loss of libido

I HAVE NOT HAD ANY OF THESE TELLTALE SYMPTOMS:
discharge
blood in urine, semen, or stool
fever

Having read your history I feel that your symptoms are from irritating the prostate with that stimulator. Your sexual contact was a very low risk one. Give the masterbation a rest. I bet the symptoms go away.Take care

oh, no worries about that. never going near there again! have been symptomatic for seven weeks now, and starting to think it just isn't going away. I've read that gay male stains of gonorrhea might be resistant to normal treatments. could gonorrhea still be the culprit here?

Yes, that's true, but your test was negative.

An anal fissure can cause all of these symptoms.  A friend of mine went 3 years with one, getting very similiar symptoms to yours, and he was in agony.  He was also hsv2 positive, and was given high doses of antivirals, tried many antibiotics, etc. etc.

He finally saw a great doc who did an exam, and found it.

I know its not thrilling to share your intimate details with your doc, but you need to, so they know what to look for.

i was concerned that maybe i was tested too soon,(though i was symptomatic at the time),and that my constant urination may have washed out the bacteria needed to spike the test? if that happened, could the symptoms have gone away like that on there own? then come back? thank you sooooo much for your help, by the way. Not sure people who make the kind of mistake like cheating really deserve much comfort. it takes a caring heart.

Did you wait at least an hour from your last urination to test?  If you did, that's fine.  And your testing time frame is fine for NGU, gonorrhea and chlamydia.

And make no mistake - I don't condone cheating.  I just look at this as a health issue, not a moral one.

probably waited long enough for an accurate swab, i guess, though it's hard to say. at any rate, surely all those antibiotics would've solved it if it were gonorrhea, right? And, the doctors don't seem concerned about that possibiliy, so i won't obsess.
3 years with an anal fissure for your friend? Is he ok now? what was the treatment he had to solve the problem? what can I try at home?

by auntiejessi, Apr 16, 2008 11:39AM
I haven't talked to him in awhile, but last I heard, he was ok.  He just used metamucil at home, and it really helped.

i posted this on the ask a doctor section and recieved a pretty convincing reply that its not std. trauma seems the only other plausable explaination. I'm going to follow the high fiber diet for a bit and see if that helps.
sucks to be human sometimes! we're such "animals" in so many ways. i wonder if our celebrated "intelligence" really amounts to much in the face of our simian weaknesses?
thanks for your help.

Glad you got some good reassurance.  :)

Make sure to drink plenty of water when you start the fiber diet.  If you don't, you can get bloating and gas.  Not fun, I promise.  ;)
