Usually "echoes" in the ear after upper respiratory infections are due to problems with the Eustachian tube not fully clearing.  This can lag the resolution of the URI by several weeks.  If it does not resolve, see your physician for medical treatment.  Echoes can also represent hearing losses, so if there is a significant problem with your hearing, insist on rapid ENT referral.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
