Issues with Mole Removal Scar

by Jennmc, Apr 16, 2008 07:13AM
Hello,
I had a mole removed from my right chest, at the very base of my breast, about four years ago.   There is a spider-looking scar remaining.    Over the last few months, I have felt a hot burning sensation at the location of this scar.   It happens quite often, ranging from once a day to several times a day and lasts for seconds to a couple minutes.   It does not hurt if I push on the scar or on the specific area.    It occurs whether I have been wearing a bra or not.   Any insight that you could provide as to the cause or remedy would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Jen

Scars on the chest often itch or burn for a while.  I'm not sure why yours should start developing symptoms now.  Injections of cortisone may help.  I suggest you consult a skin doctor to look at the scar and recommend treatment, but I don't think these symptoms suggest anything serious.

Best.
